Description
The Education & Workforce Development Committee will address issues affecting the quality of education in the West Valley at all levels (K-12 and higher education). The committee will have a particular focus on the quality of our workforce, as well as creating the workforce needed for the future of the West Valley. The committee works on two specific projects geared toward that goal: the new WESTMARC-Leadership West West Valley Youth Scholarship, which was developed to keep West Valley students pursuing higher education in the West Valley, and the Regional Youth Summit, an effort led by Surprise Councilmember John Williams to regionalize and enhance West Valley youth leadership programs.
